QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation combined with focused attention and heightened awareness. It allows access to internal response patterns in a natural, conscious way. Hypnosis is not something imposed from outside - it is a normal capacity of the mind and a constructive way of working with learned patterns.
Are there some people you cannot hypnotise?
No, all people can experience hypnosis to some degree.(except mentally handicapped) Like any internal process, the depth of the experience varies from person to person and depends on comfort, engagement, and willingness to participate.
Are drugs or tablets used?
No. Hypnosis does not involve medication or substances of any kind.
Will I be aware of what is happening?
Yes. A common experience is thinking, “Nothing happened - I was aware the whole time,” even though meaningful internal shifts may be occurring.
So I’m not asleep then?
No. Hypnosis is not sleep. It is a state of focused relaxation and awareness, which is why it is often described as conscious hypnosis.
Could I be influenced to do anything against my will or values?
No. Hypnosis does not bypass personal values or control. You remain able to choose, respond, and disengage at any point.
Is there any cause for concern?
No. Hypnosis is widely used as a structured, supportive approach for exploring and working with internal patterns.
How many sessions are usually needed?
This depends on the depth and complexity of the patterns being explored.
- More surface-level issues may shift in 1-3 sessions
- Longer-standing patterns often benefit from a more analytical approach, typically over 8-12 sessions
This is always discussed and tailored individually.
Can people benefit even if they don’t have a specific problem?
Yes. Many people work analytically not to “fix” something, but to better understand how their internal responses are formed and maintained. For insight into personal patterns, it can be a valuable process.
